Data we store
Stored locally on your device
Buffer stores only the information needed to run the app and show your budget clearly.
Bills and income
Items you add, including name, amount, type and day of month.
Settings
Your payday settings, chosen currency, app lock preferences and lock timeout.
Saved balance
An optional saved current balance value for use in Forecast.
Buffer does not upload this information anywhere.
Data we do not collect
No tracking, no analytics, no ads
Biometrics
App lock uses your device’s secure system
If you enable App Lock, Buffer asks your device to authenticate you using biometrics or your device passcode.
Your biometric data is not stored by Buffer
Buffer does not receive, store or process your fingerprint or face data.
Authentication is handled by your device
The app relies on the secure authentication systems built into iPhone and Android devices.
Third parties
Buffer does not share your data with third parties because it does not collect or transmit your data.
Data retention and deletion
All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete Buffer to remove stored data from your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
